In a valley cast in clover leaves
Pilgrims too tired to carry on
Settled the town of lazy rock
Narrow and a road of one
Thatcher roofs and muddied floors
The wealthiest family could afford
The market lined in stones and sticks
Chickens of plenty to eat the ticks
The farmer's son, a skinny lad
Sold bushels of beats and corn
The daughter of the candle maker
Crown of flowers her brow adorn
Every coin for candle
Her father did await
The smell of bread and pastries sweet
Her stomach groaned and ached
Farmers son never a trip
Flowers scent his nose did drip
Her golden locks, her freckled nose
His love for her no one knows
They settled on secret pact
Every week she’d come back
A special crafted candle made
For an ear of corn he would trade
Alone at night, dark and cold
The candle lit, he did hold
A secret scent, the flicker teased
Petals and pollen, made him sneeze

Yellow flames engulfed his shed.
Soon he feared, he’d be dead
The horse it bucked, the donkey ducked,
The rooster crowed, where’s the bucket? No one knows. (Go crazy!)
The cow, the trough, a kick, a thrash.
Water every where did splash (g pause)

Sound and safe and home in bed. The candle

maker's daughter, danced in his head.
